Worked the 1st week I got it! April 26, 2008 Reviewer:  Tornado Alley Resident (Sherman TX)  See all my reviews >

I bought this item for my husband who has always been afraid of storms. Now that we have moved to "Tonado Alley", he is worried for us and our 3yr daughter. The radio was very easy to set up the SAME, received on Thurs and and alarm went off on Tues. The alarm went off BEFORE the news broadcast! Although it was for a severe thunder storm, we felt well prepared.

Pretty Good Little Radio - I recommend it December 11, 2008 Reviewer:  Vancouver USA (Vancouver, Washington)  See all my reviews >

I have owned the CKW2000 for about 6 months and it has worked perfectly since taking it out of the box. Once you read and understand the logic for programming, it is easy. The alert system works great and the county option is easy to program for single and multiple counties. I really like the alert options for the various types of alerts.

I like it well enough I am purchasing another for a present. I would also recomment it to a friend.

Only reason it is not rated a 5 is that the AM portion lacks a little sensitivity and interference rejection. The sound reproduction is about average for a radio of its size.

Worked great-for less than 1 week June 11, 2008 Reviewer:  Digi-Writer "Michael H." (Alexandria, VA United States)  See all my reviews >

I thought I would take a chance on this radio as an all-in-one solution to my need for an alarm clock radio and a weather radio with S.A.M.E. due to the recent spate of tornados and severe storms we've been though. My gamble almost paid off.

The sound on FM was great and it picked up all the local stations I care to listen to in the Washington D.C. area. The LCD could be more readable (I think the orange background and strange-looking LCD segments are the problem).

The emergency alert features of the weather radio worked great after I put in the county codes form the NOAA NWS Website.

However, five days after I purchased it some of the LCD segments in the "hours" display went blank. That made it impossible to tell the time, the basic reason for having a CLOCK radio. Since the unit only comes with a 90-day warranty, I decided not to risk an exchange and therefore returned the unit for a refund. It does take some time to enter the county codes and set up your preferences in the weather-radio setup. I'm not willing to invest that time and then have to waste even more time returning the defective radio to the store. A little bit of QA at the factory would have resulted in a winner!

Great dual use weather radio. May 13, 2008 Reviewer:  C. Valdez Real Name (Arlington, Tx)  See all my reviews >

Bought this weather radio for a friend that always wanted us to call her when our weather radio went off (different brand). I tested it out for a few days before giving it to her, at the end of the 3rd day I wanted to keep it. It's really nice. Now I'm going to have to go buy me another one for the office. S.A.M.E is a really nice feature, allows you to program for your county. Makes me feel safe knowing when a storm is in the area. When storm season is over it can be used as a normal radio, good reception in my area.

2 Radios Lasted 3 Months July 27, 2008 Reviewer:  MBVLD See all my reviews >

I originally purchased this radio in the store because of its price to features ratio was much better than any other weather radio I've seen. Setup was simple; the instructions were easy to follow. The weather radio worked great for three weeks but started to flash constantly, the weather radio did not work, and the FM radio died. I was able to make an exchange at the store and thought I may have bought a dud. The second radio worked for nearly two months and has failed the same way as the first however the FM radio does still work. I contacted the manufacturer and although they offered to replace the item I do not want to waste more money on shipping just to have the product fail again. If you're looking for a weather radio do not consider Emerson. There are far superior brands out there.

False advertising June 25, 2008 Reviewer:  Glen (Ardsley, PA USA)  See all my reviews >

I was so happy when I saw that this was made in the USA! Until I arrived at the store and read the box that said "Made in China".
